Overview

Free Web Hosting for Life Free Domains Easy Website Builder1

AtSpace has been in business for over 14 years. The company is owned by AttractSoft GmbH & Zetta Hosting Solutions and has its offices in Kiel, Germany and Sofia, Bulgaria. Its servers are located in Sofia, Bulgaria and its website is available in English only.

Features and Ease of Use

AtSpace offers shared hosting, semi-dedicated hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), reseller hosting, domain registration, and related services. These are the features of its shared hosting:

  • 99.9% uptime
  • Free domain on the top plan
  • Free shared SSL
  • Two, five, or unlimited domains
  • Weekly automatic backups
  • Unlimited storage space

AtSpace provides the Zacky application installer, which can be used to install Content Management Systems (CMS), website builders, discussion boards, E-commerce solutions, image galleries, customer support management, and more with one click. It supports WordPress, Joomla!, and Drupal.

Also, you can install a website builder from the app installer or use the Zacky website builder with its drag-and-drop tool to build your website; it doesn’t require coding knowledge to use.

For custom coders, AtSpace supports a plethora of programming scripts, including PHP, ASP.NET, Perl, CGI, Perl, Ruby, and Python. The operating system is Linux and databases are MySQL with PHPMyAdmin. Its control panel is custom-built.

Some of the programming and hosting features are restricted based on the plan you choose. For example, you can’t use ASP.NET on the base plan. Also, you can’t use crontab and SSH on the first two plans.

AtSpace protects its customers with a server-based firewall to prevent the success of any web server attack. There is virus protection with ClamAV anti-virus toolkit and spam protection with SpamAssassin to scan, detect, and remove unwanted programs and spam emails.

For data reliability, it uses RAID backup by mirroring your data on two HDDs in order to be able to restore your data in case of a hard drive crash.

Pricing and Support

There’s no free trial, but there is a free version. The free version provides 1GB storage, one MySQL database, one domain, three sub-domains, one email account, and unlimited bandwidth. It’s enough for a simple website and the company doesn’t place ads on it.

For the paid plans, pricing starts from three-month subscriptions. It also offers six months, 12 months, and 24 months. Its price is low and if you’re willing to pay for 12 months, you’ll get more than 95% off for the first year.

They’ve got payment processors like PayPal, WorldPay, BitCoin, and bank wire. And guess what? Customers get a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Customer support is available through ticketing system. There’s also live chat, email, and phone for sales inquiries. I tried the live chat and though I got connected immediately, the agent didn’t seem knowledgeable enough.

If your website needs more resources, you can commit immediately to a paid plan and you can easily upgrade your plan from your control panel to a higher shared plan, but you can’t move from shared to VPS without contacting support.

Pros

  • Low-price shared hosting
  • 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Support for a plethora of programming scripts
  • RAID storage on two HDDs

Cons

  • No refund on downtime
  • Phone and live chat not for technical support
