To compare the best web hosts, we hosted the same WordPress website on each one and tested performance, customer service, and value for money. Check out the results here.
With reputedly more than 10,000 happy customers, Czech-based ASPone has been providing hosting solutions on Microsoft .NET platforms since 2007. As well as dealing in shared hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers, this vendor also sells domain registration services. Its notable clients include Microsoft, Veolia, AutoCont, GLS, Kapsch, and Unilever CR.
Although it’s somewhat unpolished, outdated, and only in Czech, APSone’s website is informative.
Features and Ease of Use
ASPone is one of the few ASP.NET hosting providers that offer a free web hosting plan. It comes with 40 MB disk space, FTP access, unlimited data transfer, unlimited number of files, and the ability to restore backups, which looks pretty good apart from the low disk space.
When you sign up for a paid plan instead of the free plan, you benefit from the following features:
- 1 GB to 30 GB disk space
- PHP support
- Unlimited data transfer
- Custom application pool
- Daily backups
- Web traffic statistics
Other supported technologies include ASP.NET 2.0 to 4.7, ASP.NET Core, ASP 3.0 (Classic), IIS 10.0, Windows Server 2016, MSSQL 2016, Flash, Shockwave, Silverlight, and more. As add-ons, you can choose SSL certificates, custom IP addresses for SSL certificates, backup restorations, and URL rewrite rules for IIS 7.
If you want to upgrade from shared hosting, you have the option to choose one of ASPone’s alternative solutions like a virtual private server, dedicated server, or private cloud. You can enjoy features such as SSH/RDP access, support for Linux and Windows, and free service setup.
ASPone’s servers are housed in FORPSI group’s INTERNET CZ advanced Tier 3 data center. The core infrastructure is redundant and relies exclusively on Dell technologies. ASPone’s web hosting services use cluster solutions under Microsoft Hyper-V to ensure high performance and 99.99% availability.
Pricing and Support
ASPone’s four shared hosting packages (Basic, Developer, Enterprise, and VIP) vary by disk space and a few other things. It throws in a free domain and one month free (with an annual subscription) on all bit the Basic plan. The 30-day money-back guarantee should make you feel better about signing up for a full year, and there are other incentives for you to transfer from your existing host.
For support, you can call the company or send an email. Although ASPone’s website was hard for my browser to translate into English, I was pleased to see that its wiki knowledge base translates pretty well:
