Wix Introduces AI-Powered SEO Tool

Wix, a platform where users can create, manage and grow a digital presence, has added to its recent releases of AI-powered solutions with its first AI SEO tool designed to generate title tags and meta descriptions.

The new tool is available for Wix Premium subscribers and will provide suggestions for title tags and meta descriptions based on the site and page content that follow SEO best practices.

Single site owners and those working with multiple sites and clients will be able generate SEO optimized tags. Improving SEO practices can result in significant site performance gains, increased visibility on search engine results, and drive more traffic to a site.

Wix designed this title tag and meta description generator to use the site data, including page content, page type, target keywords, and business name and location, among others.

This new feature is accessible through the SEO panel of an individual page or via the Wix dashboard to bulk edit multiple title tags and meta descriptions at once. While this AI tool can automatically pull content from the page, users can provide an optional focus keyword to generate three suggestions.

Users can then refine the suggestions by selecting the desired tone or clarifying the target audience, at which point the AI tool will provide three new suggestions. This way, the AI generator will accelerate the content generation, but will leave full control in the hands of the site owner.

The new SEO tool was built on top of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Wix designed hundreds of prompts and evaluated the results based on SEO best practices. “After initially disqualifying prompts based on the percent of results that adhered to our strict definitions of a good suggestion… [we] did a qualitative check on hundreds of results to ensure that they were viable for the content of the page they were generated for,” explained Shira Amit, product manager at Wix.

Wix analyzed nearly 60,000 responses across 70 different page types to ensure the suggestions took various types of search intents into account.

While this SEO generator can provide suggestions, users will still need to have a clear understanding of their site’s audience and high-level SEO best practices. Wix has included a feedback area directly built into the SEO panel to ensure it can constantly improve on this new solution.
