Wix Expands Business Reach With Wix Headless
Last week, Wix announced the launch of Wix Headless, an API and SDK that will allow Wix to expand its customer base by offering more customization and flexibility.
In addition to scalability and flexibility, Wix Headless will also offer improved front-end design, a business process dashboard, and a streamlined API to facilitate integration.
With a single API, Wix Headless allows businesses to access a wide range of Wix tools such as eCommerce, Bookings, Events, and Pricing Plans from any app or website. This new offering will allow Wix to strategically develop new partnerships, the first of which is with Netlify.
Through Wix Headless, a growing business can choose to build its front-end using the technical stack of its choosing that best matches its user experience needs while still getting the benefits of Wix’s business process solutions. Businesses will be able to scale and adapt based on changing market needs without having to redesign their IT systems.
Wix’s current portfolio is primarily based on low-code or no-code solutions and a library of templates that allow users to develop websites with an interactive and intuitive interface. This type of solution is powerful but limited in terms of customization options. By using Wix Headless, businesses can fully design and customize their front-end design.
The centralized dashboard also enables businesses to track performance indicators, manage customer data and make informed data-driven decisions by monitoring business operations.
Wix began as a website builder in 2006, and has grown to have more than 200 million users, offering secure, scalable, and high performing solutions.
The term “headless” refers to a technology concept in which the front-end and back-end are decoupled. Both can grow and develop independently, giving more flexibility to businesses to fine-tune customer experience across multiple platforms, devices, and applications while not impacting back-end systems and vice versa.
