Wix Introduces AI-Powered Mobile App Builder

Wix, one of the most popular website builders in the world, has announced a new feature that allows users to leverage AI to build their own mobile apps.

This new capability allows users with no coding knowledge or experience to interface with an AI chatbot and use prompts to describe the app they want to create. Wix claims it will then build a professional and fully customizable application for iOS or Android.

The AI chat experience will guide users through the process, gathering information such as the app’s intent and objectives. Once the mobile app is created, users can continue to edit it to meet their specific needs.

This new AI feature is fully integrated into Wix’s existing mobile app builder. Once the new app is created using the chatbot, users can adapt sections, widgets, or designs. They can also preview the app on their own devices before releasing it on the App Store or Google Play.

The apps will also benefit from being integrated with their corresponding Wix sites, with all data from the user’s app and website synchronizing in real time. Users retain full ownership of all apps created in the mobile app builder.

The app builder chatbot is available worldwide in English for Wix users subscribed to the premium Branded App plan, which currently starts at $99 a month.

Wix has been regularly introducing new AI capabilities. Most recently, it released AI-powered image creation tools.

Other website builders have also incorporated AI into their offerings. Hostinger, for example, has attributed its massive increase in new customers and revenue to AI website-building tools, among other things.
