Squarespace Named Among 2023’s Most Innovative Companies
American business magazine Fast Company recognized Squarespace as one of the 10 most innovative companies in retail for 2023.
Website builder and host Squarespace earned its spot among the top ten most innovative companies in retail for being a “one-stop-shop for the creator class.” In 2022, the company introduced Squarespace Refresh, a major update that boasts over 100 new features and innovations.
“We’re proud to be recognized as a Most Innovative Company for our commitment to helping entrepreneurs succeed worldwide,” Anthony Casalena, Founder and CEO of Squarespace, announced on the company’s blog.
The list is part of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies selection, which features a total of 540 organizations across 54 categories “that are reshaping industries and culture.”
One of Squarespace’s recent offerings is a partnership with Printful, a printing service that enables users to create and sell custom merchandise on demand. Another standout feature is the ability to place video content behind paywalls, which makes it easier for creators to turn site visitors into paying subscribers. Content automation, asset library, digital collectibles, and link-in-bio for one-page bio sites are also part of the 2022 Squarespace Refresh.
Squarespace’s out-of-the-box design is considered one of the best in the industry. Last year, the company introduced a next generation website design system, Fluid Engine, which gives users maximum control over their website design.
Aside from being at the forefront of website building for nearly two decades, Squarespace’s increased focus on e-commerce has placed it among the leading website builders for entrepreneurs and digital-first creators looking to monetize their content. The platform makes it easy for merchants to receive money through reliable payment providers like PayPal and Square and pay-as-you-go solutions like Afterpay and Clearpay.
Squarespace’s revenue reached $862 million in 2022, with Caselena stating the platform is “more powerful and intuitive than ever before.”
