Wix Adds Figma Plugin for Exporting Designs to Wix Studio
According to a Wix press release, leading website builder Wix can now integrate with the collaborative design tool Figma. With the Figma to Wix Studio plugin, users can seamlessly export their Figma designs to Wix Studio, Wix’s website-building platform for agencies and enterprises.
“We are thrilled to present the new plugin to the design community,” said Gali Erez, Head of Product at Wix Studio Editor. “With its innovative features and intuitive interface, the plugin empowers users to craft captivating designs and swiftly streamline the path from design to production..”
Figma is a collaborative software-as-a-service (SaaS) that allows designers, developers, and clients to prototype and test all types of digital designs – in this case, website designs. It’s typically used to make mock-ups to show a client how the site will look and feel without spending the resources needed for full functionality.
Now, users can take Figma’s use beyond the iteration and conceptualization phase, exporting their designs to a blank canvas or an existing Wix Studio site as Pages, Sections, Containers, or Stacks.
With the Figma to Wix Studio plugin, users can access 100+ pages, sections, and components fully optimized for Studio and “crafted to drive conversion.” Once exported, Wix Studio creators can take the designs further with no-code animations, CMS, business, and AI tools, including custom code.
While Wix Editor caters to individuals and small businesses with its drag-and-drop interface, Wix Studio is an advanced editor that allows users to edit the website code. It includes multi-site management workspaces, and more monetization options, in addition to the solutions available to standard users. Wix has positioned Wix Studio as a go-to solution for those who build websites at scale.
The new plugin comes as Wix strengthens its offering of advanced tools. The company recently added AI functionality to its mobile app builder, intended to make the process of building mobile apps more accessible.
