Meta AI Now Has Celebrity Voices
Meta has announced several enhancements to Meta AI, its AI-powered chatbot. These include voice capabilities, where users can now choose between voices for their AI assistant, including voices from celebrities.
Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram users can now interact with Meta AI using their voice and get vocal responses in return instead of messaging. The voices they can choose from include Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan Michael Key, and Kristen Bell. Meta worked with each of them to train their chatbot to replicate their voices.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced this and many other improvements it is rolling out at Meta’s annual conference, Meta Connect. Other enhancements include new image and translation capabilities and new features dedicated to helping businesses succeed.
Users can now share images with Meta AI, and the chatbot will be able to understand the picture and respond to questions about it. For example, users could upload a dish and ask Meta AI to provide recipes for how to make it.
Users can ask Meta AI to change elements of the image, add or remove parts of the picture, or add a matching background, making it easy to post as an Instagram Story.
Meta is also testing a new feature that automatically translates the audio published in Reels, simulating the speaker’s voice. It’s now available on Instagram and Facebook in the US and Latin America in English and Spanish, with plans to add more languages.
Improvements targeted at businesses include making it easier for them to set up AI-driven customer experiences. For example, ad tools to make it easier to reach out to existing or potential customers or tools that can help provide support, such as guiding customers through their check-out experience.
Meta claims that MetaAI is on its way to becoming the most-used AI assistant worldwide. Meta AI has over 400 million monthly users and more than 185 million active users each week across the complete set of Meta products.
