LinkedIn Celebrates 1 Billion Users With New AI Tools
LinkedIn announced a number of new AI tools for its Premium users to celebrate the milestone of reaching one billion users on its platform.
LinkedIn is rolling out a new “AI experience” for a set of users with Premium LinkedIn accounts, including more personalized interactions to better curate available data and improved support in the quest for a new job.
Users will be able to get a summary of insights from the data available on their feed, including the content of articles and videos, the comments made by the connection who posted the article, and any conversation that follows. Users will be able to rapidly get “actionable takeaways” in seconds.
Should users need more information on a subject, LinkedIn will use Microsoft Bing to augment its search results with articles and discussions from LinkedIn and across the web.
When job hunting, LinkedIn will provide analyses of job postings and support researching a role or a company to help users find the right job and company for them. LinkedIn will even help identify how a user can best position themselves for a role and propose messaging that will make a candidate stand out.
All of these updates come a few weeks after LinkedIn announced AI powered updates aimed at businesses – in particular, a new AI assistant to facilitate the recruitment process. Businesses will be able to reduce the time they spend creating projects and searching through profiles, leaving recruiters to focus on “the human touchpoints” with potential candidates.
Corporations will also have improved marketing and sales capabilities with tools aimed at helping businesses build optimized marketing campaigns and define target audiences.
All of these updates come as LinkedIn reaches one billion members, a milestone that elevates it to a top-tier social network, putting it in the same sphere as platforms such as Meta.
“Surpassing 1 billion members is not just about reaching a milestone; it’s about fostering a dynamic ecosystem,” says LinkedIn CPO Tomer Cohen. “Every new member enriches our platform with their unique perspective, contributing to a collective community that comes together to help build careers, companies, industries, and economies.”
