IONOS Expands Server Customization to North America
Following a successful launch in Europe, popular cloud and web hosting provider IONOS for small and mid-size businesses announced that it is offering its build-to-order (BTO) dedicated server customization to customers across the US and Canada.
New customers from the US and Canada can order BTO servers from IONOS’ Dedicated Servers page. Existing users can order this customization through their cloud panel. BTO dedicated server customization comes from a response to IONOS customers that require different configurations than the standard options.
“With over 750,000 possible combinations available for BTO dedicated server customization, we support our customers in realizing their very specific requirements. Customers can choose between a ‘standard’ and a BTO configuration at any time,” Patrick Schaudel, SVP of products at IONOS, explained in a press release. “Thanks to optimized processes and a clever assembly line, we can provide the desired configuration in the shortest possible time,” he said.
IONOS’ dedicated servers have a selection of AMD Ryzen Pro, AMD EPYC, Intel Xeon E (Rocket Lake), and the second and fourth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. These new plans feature total API control, load balancing, and an 8-minute deployment. Users can still choose to use the “standard” configuration of the models or upgrade memory and storage (up to a maximum capacity). This level of customization allows users to build a dedicated server for each use case.
The BPO server is available for a one-time customization fee of $50. Additional charges for memory (RAM) and storage upgrades apply. Customers can either increase the capacity of the standard server storage or add more storage devices.
Aside from IONOS’ new BTO dedicated server customization solutions, the company will continue to offer its dedicated bare metal servers. These come with fixed configurations based on commonly used configurations of memory, storage, and cores. These servers suit most use cases, including operating mid-sized e-commerce shops and running websites with high-performance demands.
After establishing itself in the European market, the German-based internet service company wants to expand its reach overseas. The company is also innovating with AI. So far, IONOS launched an AI email marketing tool and integrated AI capabilities into its website builder.
