Instagram Launches Add Yours Templates in Stories
Content creators can now customize their own Add Yours templates in Stories with GIFs, images and text, allowing them to connect in an engaging and interactive way with their communities.
Add Yours kicked off on Instagram early November in 2021 and is a way for users to respond to stories created by others based on a certain topic or prompt. For example, one creator can create a story with the label “Outfit of the Day” and then prompt followers to add stories with the sticker, creating a virtual album.
The Add Yours feature is available from the sticker tool when users create a Story. From there, they can either start a new thread or respond to an existing chain.
The new Add Yours templates feature allows content creators to define their own Add Yours templates. Other users can then use the template to start their own threads or collaborate with friends and followers. Creators of the template can delete it at any time.
Instagram users who use the custom Add Yours template will be able to add to it, customize it, and play around with the pinned items. Users can also tap the faces on the left side of the sticker to see who else has adapted the template.
Depending on the privacy settings associated with the initial account, the “Started by” credit allows users to know where the prompt started. This credit will not be visible if the account is private or if the user has opted not to share their username.
Add Yours Templates are available on iPhone and Android versions of the app. Instagram started its global roll out of the feature mid-December after completing initial testing in select markets.
Instagram has recently announced a number of additional features to improve user experience, including upgrades to its editing tools for videos and text tools, new photo filters, and deeper insights for its analytics tools.
