Hostinger Teams Up With Monarx to Prevent Malware

Ivana Shteriova Written by:
Global hosting provider Hostinger joined forces with Monarx, a leading security solution for Linux web hosting, to prevent malware and minimize operating costs. The strategic partnership provides around-the-clock advanced Monarx security for Hostinger’s shared hosting plans.

Monarx’s security solution also allows Hostinger to protect servers from malware with a single command line. According to the official press release, shared hosting customers can enjoy advanced security without installing or configuring anything by themselves.

Additionally, “Monarx dug deeper into Hostinger’s needs and goals to innovate and build additional features and functionality to add to the already powerful arsenal of Monarx protection products,” which includes reducing detection time.

“We’re proud to be Hostinger’s chosen solution for securing their customers’ websites,” Jeremy Warren, CEO of Monarx said, adding that Hostinger is “a large, sophisticated, and demanding partner, and they see a huge volume of advanced attacks, so it’s rewarding to see how we’ve been able to keep everything running smoothly and securely with great technology and collaboration.”

But Monarx’s involvement in Hostinger goes beyond malware protection. The security provider built additional solutions to tackle Hostinger’s unique needs and challenges regarding security. Some of the features and functionalities Monarx introduced to Hostinger include:
  • Site cleanup service that reduces Hostinger’s ticket resolution time
  • New agent capability for detection and remedy of malicious attacks like crypto miners, in-memory malware, etc.
  • Enhanced process monitoring that allows for easy identification of potentially malicious activities
  • Optimizing performance via auditd, a Linux audit daemon that minimizes scanning overhead
Monarx also helped Hostinger identify potential optimization and security improvements, which encompass issues such as backup solution ownership, file manager bugs, and WordPress filesystem access methods.

With hackers attacking approximately 30,000 websites a day, even Hostinger admits that “there’s no guarantee your website won’t be next.” The partnership with Monarx reflects the company’s increased safety measures and shorter ticket resolution time, meaning customers can enjoy greater security and recover their websites faster if cyberattacks occur.
