New Product Release Has Major Changes Coming to Fiverr
Fiverr, a platform that aims to connect freelance talent with the needs of businesses, has announced its 2024 summer product release of new capabilities for freelancers and businesses alike. The release is part of Fiverr’s plan to transform itself “from a services marketplace to a hiring platform.”
“Today’s new releases are providing an expanded breadth of options for businesses of all sizes to recruit skilled talent and integrate freelancers into their workforce,” Fiverr founder and CEO Micha Kaufman said, adding that “hiring managers and businesses can better recruit the talent they need.”
The release is seeing Fiverr expand how its talent catalog is organized. Businesses can now search not only by service but also by profession, skill, and expertise, allowing freelancers to fully showcase their abilities and providing businesses with a more comprehensive view of available resources. New freelancers will also get access to tools to help them get started, improve their profiles, and gather feedback.
In a major change, Fiverr will now allow freelancers to connect for longer-term or recurring assignments by including a new hourly rate option. The lack of such a feature has long set Fiverr apart from one of its biggest competitors, Upwork. For now, only Fiverr Pro freelancers will be eligible for the hourly rate option.
To help businesses manage multiple freelancers, Fiverr Pro customers can now “outsource the outsourcing” by using Fiverr-trained business partners. These partners will manage projects and the associated freelance talent needed to complete them.
The latest product release also includes a new loyalty program for Fiverr Pro customers, who can now earn Fiverr credits as a percentage of their spending and access specialized services.
Fiverr also continues leveraging AI to bring innovative solutions to its customers. The product release features improvements to Neo, a sophisticated matching tool Fiverr introduced last year that helps businesses find the right talent for their projects.
This release further advances the existing chat capability and adds AI features to help businesses more easily define Project briefs and product Requirement Documents and write detailed reviews.
