Fiverr Search Trends: Businesses Increase Focus on AI Projects
Freelancer website Fiverr released its fall Business Trends Index, revealing the global search trends that emerged on its platform in the past six months.
The report shows that businesses are increasingly interested in adopting AI, retailers are preparing to capture modern consumers’ attention during peak shopping seasons, and service businesses are looking to improve their digital presence.
When OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT, hit the tech scene late last year, businesses started to search for ways to adopt AI, driving higher demand for freelancers with specific AI skills. Search trends on Fiverr show businesses are looking for freelancers who can help them “create tools and assets tailored to their business needs.” In particular, Fiverr recorded a spike in AI content editing (+10,490%), prompt engineering (+7,345%), and AI video (+3,746%).
Retailers looking to improve their online sales strategies to attract consumers’ attention ahead of key shopping seasons like back to school and holidays is the second biggest trend according to Fiverr.
In times of economic uncertainty and an ever-evolving consumer landscape, retailers are turning to freelancers to help them with everything from creating product mock-ups and updating product descriptions to revamping online stores. Freelance experts in e-commerce website development (+3,333%), Amazon A+ content (+12,256%), and clothing stores (+525%) saw the biggest increase in searches.
Fiverr’s new Business Trends Index also showed that service businesses, even traditionally offline ones like construction, repairs, and shipping logistics, want to focus on elevating their digital presence. The fastest growing service businesses on Fiverr seeking help from freelancers to build their websites and engage with customers via online channels include trucking (+3,442%), handyman (+1,398%), and property management (+1,397%).
Alongside the global findings, Fiverr’s Business Trends Index compiled location data related to the fastest growing searches on the platform. Data by countries show that “3D Product Rendering” is leading in Australia, followed by “Email List Building in France,” “AI Video” in Germany, and “SEO Report” in Italy. The fastest growing searches for US and UK businesses are “Google Business Profile” and “Set Up Shopify Store,” respectively.
Fiverr’s latest reports indicate that businesses across all industries rely on freelancers now more than ever. Another recent study from Fiverr Pro shows that marketing leaders are hiring freelancers at a higher rate to fill in skill gaps caused by recent layoffs amid the unstable economy.
