Verpex is a relatively new hosting provider that launched in 2019. It operates out of London, Bulgaria, and Bali offices and has data centers in Canada, the U.S.A., Brazil, the U.K., the Netherlands, Germany, India, Singapore, and Australia. It specializes in shared hosting, reseller hosting, cloud hosting, WordPress hosting (managed and unmanaged), managed Magento hosting, and domain registration.
The Verpex website is well-designed and informative. While it’s only available in English, you can view prices in USD, GBP, or EUR.
Features and Ease of Use
Verpex offers cloud web hosting (shared) via four different plans – Iron, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. These differ with regards to the included amount of storage space, the number of supported websites, monthly bandwidth, and overall performance. That said, all four come with the following features as standard:
- cPanel
- Softaculous installer
- SSD storage
- Free SSL certificates
- Free domain
- Daily backups
- Free website migration
- LiteSpeed Web Server
- 99.5% uptime guarantee (99.99% in the Bronze plan and up)
All shared hosting accounts run on CloudLinux OS, which securely isolates each account from others on the same server. This protects your site against external threats and ensures fair allocation of server resources.
All plans are SSD-powered instead of the more traditional HDD storage. SSD storage performs much faster and is more stable in processing website data. In return, this reflects on your website’s loading speed, stability, and overall performance.
It’s worth noting that all shared hosting plans come with the cPanel control panel. It’s known for its user-friendly interface and useful built-in tools. One of these tools is the Softaculous one-click installer, which is easy to use and supports hundreds of popular content management systems (CMS) and scripts, including WordPress.
In addition to the shared hosting plans, Verpex further provides a range of premium solutions, encompassing managed hosting services for WordPress and Magento, along with managed cloud servers.
With these plans, your websites will benefit from greatly increased performance, and the fully-managed service will take care of the technical stuff for you. That said, there was a notable lack of features. In contrast, Nexcess has much better managed WordPress plans with premium plugins and nice extras like free auto-scaling for a lower price.
Pricing and Support
Verpex’s shared hosting plans give you an impressive set of features, and yet they’re still affordable. You can choose to pay annually to get a flat 20% discount on the monthly price, which makes plan prices lower than much of the competition.
Alternatively, you can opt for a monthly payment plan to get a huge discount on your first month of hosting. However, this is poor long-term value, as prices rise sharply after this initial month. The annual plan offers far lower prices overall. If you’re looking for budget-priced monthly hosting, InterServer can give you much better value.
It’s also worth noting that Verpex offers a generous 45-day money-back guarantee with shared, managed WordPress, and managed Magento plans, so you can cancel at any time within the first 45 days to receive a full refund. However, managed cloud servers only come with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
The website has a comprehensive knowledgebase that covers the most important topics. There’s also a blog that looks at general issues. If you don’t find your answers there, you can always contact support (which is available 24/7) via live chat, phone, and email. I went for the live chat and promptly connected to a knowledgeable agent who answered all my questions.
