What’s Your Story? What Sparked The Idea, And How Has It Evolved So Far?
It all began in 2015 when Vivek Gupta and I met at IIT Chennai and decided to explore the personal, premium concierge space using technology. Initially bootstrapped, the concept did pretty well, and we started growing steadily through customer referrals. However, as the number of customers grew, we also noticed a reduction in the number of tasks outsourced to us. During our discussions, we realized that our clients were entrepreneurs and start-ups who needed an extra pair of hands to manage their tasks while they focussed on growing their businesses. So we relaunched our services to provide high-quality and well-trained assistants to entrepreneurs and small businesses to meet this growing need. This concept took off, and we started growing exponentially. We were growing so fast that we outgrew the office space we used to work from within a few weeks. Moreover, our team spent a lot of unproductive time just traveling to the office. To address both these problems, we decided to adopt the remote working concept. We launched this initiative by hiring our first full-time remote employee to support our HR operations. The learnings over previous years stood us in good stead. It helped us refine our operations and define SOPs for recruitment, training, client communication, performing quality tasks, and submitting EOD reports. Vivek and I believe strongly in the power of technology in managing operations smoothly. So we invested heavily in technology to create a robust platform for our clients and employees to help facilitate better communication and productivity. Today, Wishup has significantly transitioned its business model and focuses only on the US markets. This move has played off well and prompted us to expand our service offerings from personal virtual assistants to virtual bookkeepers, software testers, and remote developers based on market demands and trends. Wishup’s future goals are pretty simple. We aim to help companies build a remote team within 30 minutes while creating enough job opportunities for a million people in the next five years.Who Are Your Typical Clients? Businesses usually approach freelancers, thinking they are a cheaper resource; unfortunately, it’s quite the opposite. The amount of time businesses need to spend searching, shortlisting, and hiring freelancers is not worth the effort and could cost the business more in the long run. Moreover, the dependability and continuity factor is crucial for every business, which one cannot find in freelancers. They could be available for a few days or weeks, due to which businesses would need to start the entire recruitment process again. If you are looking for high-quality work, along with reliability and dependability, then virtual assistant services like Wishup are the answer.
What Trends Are Going To Shape The Future Of Remote Work?
Remote working is definitely here to stay. While some organizations may opt for a hybrid model (remote + office), they definitely cannot afford to ignore remote working.I see a growing demand for virtual assistants in the future as organizations try to save costs and boost profitability in these competitive times. Businesses will also start delegating critical tasks to virtual assistants and depending on them to contribute strategically to the organization. AI and the Metaverse will also play an important role in remote working as they facilitate better immersive and interactive work environments. So, for example, you could organize meetings where everyone is present virtually in the same room in a 3D avatar. That will boost productivity. There will be more team diversity, with organizations hiring remote workers from beyond their local boundaries and cities. Organizations will collaborate and make decisions faster in real time thanks to better communication and productivity tools.
