This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Bogdan, the CEO of
WebShopAssist. We spoke about their beginnings, the services they offer, and what is in the pipeline for the future.
What is WebShopAssist?
We are a software development agency specializing in Shopify eCommerce platform customization.
We offer off-the-shelf Shopify apps available in the
Shopify app store, as well as configuration and customization services.
Please describe the story behind the company: What sparked the idea, and how has it evolved so far?
After 20 years in software development, covering roles from software developer, analyst, and software architect to project management, program management, and people management, I discovered Shopify and noticed that there was a high demand for services covering all areas of online store development using this platform. I became a Shopify partner and started offering Shopify configuration and customization services for a few customers.
Soon we discovered that at that time (2018) there were service providers which could not be integrated with Shopify and so the first app was created and published in the Shopify app store.
What services do you offer?
- Of-the-shelf Shopify apps for integrating Shopify with carrier services (DPD, FanCourier), FGO invoicing service, and OLX platform
Shopify app for product label printing, SKU, and barcode generation
- Shopify setup & theme customization – for those just starting out or looking to upgrade their basic store by customizing an existing theme
- Custom application development – web applications made to work perfectly with the Shopify environment
- Integration – most of the time there are custom requirements and integrations that you need to fit your website into the IT landscape of your company
- Migrations – if you want to leave an existing service provider and move to Shopify
What is unique for WebShopAssist compared to similar websites/companies?
I’d say that is the application development experience. Many Shopify partners offering configuration and customization services do not have this expertise. If a customer wants a unique user experience for his store or a proprietary behavior, custom applications are the way to go.
Who are your typical customers, and what do you think is the main challenge that your product solves for them?
I can’t say that there is a typical customer. The DPD integration app offers Shopify integration with DPD, one of the top courier companies in Europe, for customers in 20 European countries. The app for product label printing and SKU generation has thousands of customers all over the world. We also created Shopify online stores for customers in the USA, Europe, and Australia.
Shopify and eCommerce in general, are evolving rapidly and we are continuously working to extend our apps to answer the requests coming from our customers.
What are the plans for WebShopAssist for the near future?
The focus is on providing the best experience for our customers.
Keeping the apps fast, reliable, and using the latest technologies offered by Shopify, while at the same time implementing new features requested by customers and providing quality support it’s “the plan”.
