Welcome to another interview by
Website Planet. Executives from the best companies on the web reveal how they are solving their clients’ pain points, how they stand out from the competition, and what new trends they will leverage to keep growing.
Our guest today is Ivaylo Georgiev, SEO Manager at VPSBG, a Bulgarian cloud hosting company established in 2013, now well known for for its fast and reliable services, responsive customer support, competitive pricing, and commitment to privacy and security. They also have a history of continuous innovation, such as launching Virtual Dedicated Servers, transitioning to a KVM-based cloud platform with AMD EPYC CPUs and NVMe storage, and developing new features like Floating IPs, OS templates, and server snapshots
In this interview, Ivaylo revealed how VPSBG managed to find the perfect compromise between performance, security and customer satisfaction, and their quite surprising results with AI implementation.
What problems are you solving with your products and services?
What sets us apart from other hosting providers is the fact that we focus on not only offering highly powerful cloud hosting solutions, but also protecting our customers’ privacy at all times!
Online security, privacy and identity-protection are something that is becoming a much more delicate topic in our fast-growing community, which is why we have taken extra measures to ensure the safety of our clients’ information.
One way in which we do this is by
accepting crypto payments for all of our services and add-ons. As a matter of fact, we have been accepting Bitcoin as an alternative payment method since 2014, being one of the first providers in Europe to do so. Shortly after, we also started accepting Litecoin and as of a few years ago – BTC Lightning Network payments as well, offering less waiting time and allowing for off-chain payments.
Additionally, we don’t use any third-party cookies or software anywhere across our website, meaning
zero tracking, resulting in a much more secure user experience and better privacy protection.
Not only that, but we also focus on providing exceptionally powerful cloud servers with both our VPS and VDS being equipped with the latest AMD EPYC CPUs and NVMe SSDs to ensure maximum performance at all times, making our services
the perfect option for those who wish to protect their privacy but also get the most out of their server.
Which types of companies benefit the most from your services?
This is because you can add extra resources or remove the ones that you are not using, which is perfect for seasonal businesses that are looking to cut costs around months with less traffic as well as for those who want to accommodate fast traffic growth.
We are also the perfect choice for those businesses and individuals that are looking to protect their privacy as well as those that don’t have access to traditional payment methods or those that want to get a server overseas without having to pay additional fees for each bank transaction.
Not only that, but our services are based in Bulgaria, Europe, which is a very favorable hosting location for a number of reasons including connectivity, content access and different regulations.
What makes them eventually choose you over your competitors?
In addition to being privacy-oriented and offering powerful cloud servers with premium hardware, we also have
a very experienced support team that are tirelessly working 24/7 to ensure 99.99% uptime, while also responding to any tickets in under 10 minutes, confirmed by a large portion of our customers when we surveyed them for feedback. Additionally, a whopping 75% stated that they would recommend us.
Customer feedback also show that quite a few users are taking advantage of our
application templates, which you can install onto your server with a single click, saving time and boosting productivity by enabling users to skip the boring and tedious installation steps that they would otherwise need to go through when installing software on their server manually.
Additionally, customers were also satisfied with our
WireGuard VPN app template, which they use to create their own personal VPN server with zero logs, zero downtime and zero effort! As mentioned before, we focus primarily on customer privacy, which is why we remain fully transparent when it comes to our installation scripts, uploading all of them to our GitHub repository.
“I’ve been using the NVMe VDS 16GB service from vpsbg.eu for over 5 years, and I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed! …My websites load at lightning-fast speeds, ensuring a smooth experience for my users…
Furthermore, the customer support team at vpsbg.eu deserves a special mention. They’ve been prompt, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful whenever I’ve reached out with queries.
In a market saturated with VDS options, vpsbg.eu stands out not just for their top-notch technology but also for their commitment to customer satisfaction. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and high-performance hosting solution!”
Gencho Tanev, Web Developer at WebSEO.bg
Since you started, what helped you grow and retain your audience?
We began by utilizing social media, different hosting forums and word-of-mouth. However, while helpful at the start, it was noticeable that those platforms were just not going to cut it. This is why we looked towards providing useful blog content and in-depth tutorials, focusing on topics that were not covered online, which ultimately opened up the door to SEO, allowing us to appear in the SERPs and giving us more exposure.
Since then, we have primarily focused on only creating useful content rather than stuffing our blog and documentation with off-topical material. This has ultimately helped us rank better and for certain phrases that we’d otherwise not be able to appear for. Additionally, we have also received very positive feedback for some of our documentation tutorials, which additionally pushes us forward when it comes to creating high-quality content.
What tools are you using to run your business and daily activities?
We also make use of tools like Semrush, Ahrefs and Moz for all of our SEO research and needs, while also monitoring our website’s performance through the Google Search Console, making daily checks for loading speed and user experience metrics with the help of other Google tools like PageSpeed Insights. As mentioned before, we don’t use Analytics due to privacy reasons, but we do track our ad performance through open-source tools like Matomo.
Additionally, we also develop everything on our website and in our client area from scratch, which allows us to also have much more granular control over each design component and the entire user experience, helping us tailor each section to the user’s expectations.
How are you doing today and what’s in the roadmap for the future?
Over the years, we have developed a plethora of different addons for our servers including automatic backups, free server snapshots and implemented a powerful DDoS protection that can stop large volume attacks. We also started offering unlimited bandwidth, due to the fact that we improved our network significantly. We have also recently revamped our floating IPs to ensure a more seamless transition.
We have also experimented with AI as a potential tool that can help customers create custom configurations and also solve simple queries based on user problems, however, with mixed results, which showed us that while AI might be taking the world by storm in some fields, it is not fully ready to be implemented in cloud hosting.
However, we plan to continue growing, releasing new application templates every few months, improving our client area and integrating all of our systems with our brand new API.
Additionally, as mentioned before, AI is also starting to take over the digital industry so it will be interesting to see how exactly it is going to fit when it comes to cloud hosting.
