Today,
Website Planet had the opportunity to interview Dawid Mędrek, CEO of PushPushGo, who kindly agreed to share some information about the company, how it evolved, and how he envisions the future of the industry,
Please present PushPushGo to our audience.
PushPushGo is a platform for managing and sending web and mobile push notifications. The important thing to emphasize is that the software we develop is proprietary. Creating the hard IP, both from the technological and content side, is one of our main differentiators in the market.
Similar companies very often use some other software and create their brand under that. Our philosophy is based on proprietary solutions. This approach brings more safety for the customer, who is assured that what we do is reliable and there are no intermediaries between us.
Please describe the story behind the company: What sparked the idea, and how has it evolved so far?
PushPushGo has been in the industry for over seven years. It all started when the founders introduced a similar solution at another company and it turned out to be a hit. It brought positive results and everything pointed to the fact that a separate product and company could be created from it.
We’ve come a long way from financing the startup with our own money, through the support of business angels, VCs and finally a sale to a strategic investor with whom we continue to develop the company. Importantly, we are a financially healthy organization that finances itself with revenue from the customer and we are growing rapidly every month in terms of metrics such as net profit and sales margin.
What services do you offer?
Our current focus is to develop our product around one technology that we have specialized in. We don’t want to go into the market of, for example, marketing automation combos that have every possible functionality in them, but at a basic level.
We have always wanted to specialize and create advanced solutions focusing on just one technology. Any client who comes to us can be sure that we will give them technological and substantive support in the area of push technology.
What is the mission of PushPushGo?
We always want the customer to value and trust us because of our specialization. And this happens, because we often have situations where an employee of our customer, responsible for push communication, changes jobs and comes back to us as an employee of another company, remembering our support, and the technology we provided.
This is a great value that builds a healthy, long-term business that is resistant to crises.
Who are your typical customers, and what do you think is the main challenge that your product solves for them?
Our main and ideal client is an online publisher such as Hearst or Aller Media who currently work with us. We provide them with a tool that is easy to use and implement. In addition, we are able to send notifications quickly and reliably, maintaining an SLA above the market average. This is very important with such a large volume of users.
For the publisher, the main advantage of this solution is the speed of reaching the user and building a subscriber base. They pay attention to the number of clicks and returning users they are able to receive through the use of push notifications.
How do you envision the future of your industry?
Historically, we go through similar challenges as SMS or email technologies. The matters of proper segmentation, right sending times, and frequency of sending have to be addressed. Each company and technology provider must pay special attention to making its technology as efficient and user-friendly as possible.
Sending spam or inappropriate content will cause the users’ sentiment towards push technology to diminish over time. It is also worth remembering that this is one of the fastest channels to reach a user interested in our content or offer. In the era of changes related to the use of cookies, it will be an important and effective channel of communication with users.
