Please describe the story behind PloxHost: What sparked the idea, and how has it evolved so far?
PloxHost was founded in 2015 by our CEO Zack Winston. Zack is a gamer by heart and knows the struggles that players had to go through when looking to share their creations with the rest of the world. We realized the common issues that hosting providers had: Laggy servers (slow hardware), lack of support, and very expensive pricing schemes.
When PloxHost entered the market, we came in and changed this. Our pricing for Minecraft & Game Hosting was the lowest the industry has ever seen, starting at $1.00 per GB, with quick and amazing features & support. PloxHost allows for players to scale their servers from anyone who wants to run a very small server, to something legitimate where they can make money off of it.
Since PloxHost has started, we have also shifted our business into new industries, including more game options, Web & VPS Hosting, dedicated servers, & more!

PloxHost has branched out into different industries since it started. We now offer 40+ plans ranging from our flagship product of Minecraft Hosting to Web, VPS, and Dedicated server hosting! We maintain servers within 3 different locations, including the United States & Europe.

We are always innovating, whether that be with our control interfaces, new product lines, locations, etc. We strive to be the best, and it has made us this far in the hosting industry.
Who are your typical customers, and what do you think is the main challenge that your product solves for them?
Our typical customer ranges from your average gamer to parents looking to start a server for their children. The special thing about our platform is, anyone can get started! It’s easy enough for a non-gamer to purchase a server and get it online by themselves without needing any help!
The main challenge that customers face before entering our platform is that starting a server can be expensive and challenging. All of our products ranging from Minecraft Hosting to VPS/Dedicated Hosting allow customers to easily start their own project with a very low budget and experience creating something amazing.
Customers can get off the ground quickly using our platform.
Which trends and technologies do you find to be particularly intriguing these days?
I personally find the trend in new CPU technology most interesting. Since our business and most of the hosting industry rely heavily on high-quality hosting hardware itself, it’s very interesting to see new CPU products that come to the market.
It is always amazing to see how the industry is constantly evolving to get better and better and gives me the inspiration to grow PloxHost around it.
How do you envision the future of your industry?
The future of our company stands with expanding our current offerings into new locations and features. The hosting industry is constantly changing. We not only need to create unique offerings to attract customers, but we also need to keep up with what other providers are offering. It’s important for us to offer the highest quality product to our customers.
In the future, you can find us expanding our Owned hardware line. PloxHost owns all of its hardware within all locations. It’s cheaper and allows for higher quality, and allows us to invest more money back into our company creating an even better experience.
One of our biggest projects right now is our new control panel for game servers. We are creating an even better experience for customers to easily run and manage their servers. You can also find us working to expand our dedicated server line into the new Ryzen 5000 series & Intel Core i9’s!
