1. Plans and Pricing
Crazy Domains Is Cheaper and Has More Plans Than Netregistry
Crazy Domains provides various hosting plans for Linux and Windows, such as shared hosting, WordPress hosting, and VPS. Even though Crazy Domains isn’t the cheapest host around, it has more affordable prices (especially with long-term subscriptions) than Netregistry, which only sells cPanel hosting and VPS with lower resource allocations. Netregistry Has More Reliable Domain Services, but Crazy Domains Offers Better Hosting Features
Several Crazy Domains users report problems with the domain registration services (especially with Backorder domains). There are fewer negative reports by Netregistry’s users. As for web hosting, it was the other way around. Crazy Domains offers three Linux-based shared hosting plans – Economy, Premium, and Ultimate. You get unlimited bandwidth, 150 GB to unlimited disk space, 100 to unlimited email addresses, 2 to 10 free stock images, and 1 to unlimited websites. All Linux shared hosting packages also come with cPanel, an application installer, email protection, FTP and SSH access, DDoS protection, Site Analytics (AwStats and Webalizer), Cron Jobs, standard backups, and CloudLinux OS. In contrast, Netregistry has three cPanel hosting plans – Starter, Business, and Premium. You get 20 GB to 100 GB storage, 500 GB to unlimited bandwidth, and 50 to unlimited email accounts. All cPanel hosting plans include a 3-page DIY site builder, application installer, and web statistics. 3. Performance
Both Provide Good Uptime, but Crazy Domains Has Faster Loading Speeds
Netregistry promises a 99.9% uptime guarantee. I tested it using UptimeRobot to see if it lives up to that promise. Surprisingly, it scored an almost perfect 99.98% uptime over 30 days. When I used GTMetrix to test the website’s overall performance, it scored a disappointing D. Crazy Domains also promises a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Like Netregistry, it scored an impressive 99.98% over 30 days with UptimeRobot. Using GTMetrix, I tested the overall performance of Crazy Domains, and it scored a B. It’s not bad, but not great either. Before moving onto the page loading speed tests, let’s look at the performance-boosting features that Netregistry and Crazy Domains offer. Netregistry only has servers in Australia, while CrazyDomains has servers in Australia, the U.K., the U.S.A., Belgium, Hong Kong, and India. You’ll be more likely to experience faster loading speeds from anywhere in the world with Crazy Domains. Neither host provides a CDN. A CDN acts as a global network of cloud servers and can be used to boost website performance. Netregistry doesn’t provide SSD with any plans, but you can get it with the Crazy Domains VPS and WordPress plans. SSD drives perform much faster than traditional HDD disk drives in data processing, reflecting directly on your website’s performance. When I tested Netregistry’s loading speeds from different locations using Sucuri, the servers didn’t connect (for unknown reasons), so I couldn’t get precise results. For more detailed performance tests, see our full Netregistry review. When I did the same tests for Crazy Domains, it showed better results than Netregistry. Even though Crazy Domains gave a low score (C), it outperformed Netregistry’s performance. The winner? Both Netregistry and Crazy Domains provide excellent uptime. However, Crazy Domains wins the overall performance challenge for delivering faster website loading speeds. For more information, read our full Crazy Domains review.4. Security
Crazy Domains Takes More Serious Security Measures
Unfortunately, neither Netregistry nor Crazy Domains offer free SSL certificates by default. However, it is an optional add-on with both vendors. Crazy Domains provides DDoS protection with all its plans, but Netregistry doesn’t. While Netregistry has automatic daily backups for its VPS hosting services, Crazy Domains has automatic weekly backups with all its services and optional (paid) daily cloud backups. Both vendors offer malware and virus protection as well as firewalls against malicious attacks and phishing attacks. In addition, they have 24/7 server monitoring to fix security issues instantly. I must say that I’m not impressed with the basic security features provided by either host. However, Crazy Domains makes more effort than Netregistry to protect your website, so it wins this round.5. Support
Crazy Domains has More Support Options and Responsive Agents
Both Netregistry and Crazy Domains have helpful knowledgebase sections that include articles and tutorials for major topics. You can contact Netregistry’s support through live chat and ticket during business hours. The live chat is available all week from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, and the sales support tickets are open Monday to Friday during the same hours. I tested Netregistry’s live chat, and I was pleased to be connected to an agent instantly. However, the representative wasn’t very knowledgeable and took some time to answer my query. In contrast, Crazy Domains offers 24/7 customer support via live chat, phone, and email. I connected to a live chat representative quickly, and they professionally answered my questions. The winner? Both hosting services provide good customer support, but it’s easier and faster to get help from Crazy Domains.Crazy Domains Beats Netregistry
Based on customer reviews, Netregistry surpasses Crazy Domains as a superior domain name registrar. Nevertheless, Crazy Domains excels in web hosting, surpassing Netregistry in ALL categories. They provide lower prices, a variety of hosting plans for both Linux and Windows, enhanced features, more allocations for unlimited resources, superior performance, and responsive customer support. Despite winning this comparison, Crazy Domains isn’t the best hosting service in the market.
