To start, tell us briefly about you. What is your current role at your company, and what are the measurable achievements you are most proud of?

I’m Bharath Kumar G, the founder and director of Negup Solutions (OPC) Private Limited. My role involves overseeing product development, business strategy, and overall company operations. One of my proudest achievements is the successful launch and growth of our flagship products, Cabookie and Cabcher (500+ Clients in 10+ Countries), which have gained traction in the cab management software market.

We’ve consistently achieved client satisfaction with over 90% retention and have seen an increase in customer base by 40% over the past year.

What pain point(s) do you solve for your customers? What was the “aha Moment” that led to the idea? Can you share that story with us?

We noticed that while there were plenty of cab dispatch software solutions available, most of them were not flexible enough to meet the unique needs of smaller operators. They either lacked customization options, were priced beyond the reach of small businesses, or required long-term subscription commitments that were impractical for operators with limited resources.

SMBs in this category wanted a solution that was both affordable and customizable, without being locked into rigid contracts. That insight led us to create a more tailored, cost-effective solution with flexible terms—providing operators with the freedom to scale and adapt as they grow.

What do you think makes your company stand out? What are you most proud of?

Our ability to provide highly customizable, scalable, and user-friendly solutions makes Negup stand out. We work closely with clients to ensure our software meets their specific needs, whether they are small local operators or larger transportation companies. I’m most proud of how we’ve created products that truly make a difference in the day-to-day operations of our clients, as well as our long-standing client relationships.

From your experience, what are the most important things to build a highly successful website and online business? Please explain each in detail.

User Experience (UX)
A website should be intuitive and easy to navigate. Clear calls to action and responsive design ensure that visitors have a seamless experience, whether they are on desktop or mobile.

SEO & Content Strategy
Creating valuable, optimized content ensures that the site attracts organic traffic. Understanding customer needs and providing solutions through content establishes credibility.

Security
Security is crucial for protecting user data and maintaining trust. Implementing strong security protocols is essential for any online business.

Analytics and Feedback
Continuously track performance and gather user feedback to make data-driven decisions. A highly successful website is never static; it’s constantly evolving based on insights.

If there were one part of the website development process you would have spent 50% more time on, what would it be and why? What made you realize the importance of this step?

I would have spent more time on thorough testing and optimization, especially for mobile responsiveness and speed. The importance of these factors became clear after launch when we realized that many users were visiting our site from mobile devices, and any delay in loading time could result in a higher bounce rate. By focusing more on optimization from the start, we could have captured and retained more users early on.

What’s the one key lesson you’ve learned about building a website and business that you wish you knew when you started? What’s the story behind this realization?

Targeted SEO is extremely powerful but it’s essential to focus on the right keywords from day one. Early on, we cast too wide a net, which didn’t attract the right audience. Through refinement, we learned the importance of tailoring content to attract the specific customers who would benefit most from our solutions.

In your opinion, which aspect of running a website tends to be most underestimated? Can you explain or give an example?

Ongoing content maintenance is often underestimated. Many think that launching a site is the hard part, but maintaining fresh, relevant content is critical for SEO and user engagement. I’ve seen businesses neglect regular updates, which leads to stagnant traffic and declining relevance.

What are the most common mistakes you have seen people making when building their website and online business? What can be done to avoid those errors?

  • Many websites are designed with too much complexity, which can confuse users. Keeping design clean and focused on the user journey is key.
  • Failing to optimize for mobile users is a huge missed opportunity, given the growing mobile traffic.
  • Building a website without considering SEO from the very start makes it harder to rank later. Avoid this by integrating SEO from the outset.

Is there any advice you’ve received in your career that you now wish you never followed? What happened?

Early on, I was advised to focus on a wide market rather than a niche. This spread our resources too thin, and we couldn’t deliver the quality we wanted across the board. By focusing on a more targeted audience, we were able to offer a better solution and gain traction faster.

What strategy has been particularly effective in growing your website audience this year?

The most effective strategy has been content marketing combined with targeted SEO. By creating in-depth, high-quality content that addresses specific pain points in the cab management industry, we’ve attracted a more engaged audience. Additionally, we’ve focused on long-tail keywords to drive organic traffic.

If I asked you to share the key ingredient in your “secret sauce” for inbound marketing, what would it be?

Our secret ingredient is personalized customer engagement. We focus on creating valuable content that addresses the specific challenges faced by our audience, and we follow up with personalized emails and messages based on their interactions. This creates a more personal connection and builds trust over time.

Based on your experiences, what trends and technologies are currently underestimated or overlooked, but can significantly impact your industry? How are you going to adapt?

I believe that AI and machine learning for predictive analytics are still underestimated in the transportation industry. By leveraging AI, companies can optimize their operations, predict customer demand, and improve route planning. At Negup, we are exploring ways to integrate these technologies into our products to stay ahead of the curve.
