Adam Arbolino on How Mixo Empowers Entrepreneurs to Launch and Validate Startup Ideas

Luka Dragovic Written by:
In an interview with Website Planet, Adam Arbolino shared how Mixo was born from the need to help entrepreneurs validate their startup ideas without the hefty price tag of building apps before testing their concepts.

After years of running a startup incubator in Sydney, Adam and his team noticed that many founders were investing thousands into ideas that hadn’t been properly validated due to a lack of technical skills. Mixo solves this by offering a streamlined platform that allows users to launch and test their ideas quickly and effectively.

With its AI-driven tools, Mixo makes building websites and gathering feedback accessible for entrepreneurs of all levels.

What inspired the development of Mixo as a platform for launching startup ideas quickly?

Our team has been running a startup incubator/lab from Sydney, Australia for over 8 years, working with founders of all sizes to launch ideas. We started to build a simple website builder after seeing a number of founders investing heavily into app ideas, often to the tune of $100k, without sufficiently validating their concepts, invariably because they lacked the necessary skills to create validating landing pages. This was the genesis Mixo – a platform designed to empower early-stage founders with the tools to launch, test, and refine their startup ideas.

How does Mixo streamline the process of building and validating business ideas?

With Mixo, you provide a simple prompt and it generates the initial website and helps you hook up the domain, email, etc. Out of the box it also has tools to help you validate and collect data, eg sign-up forms to connect with your audience, no-code integrations with Calendly, Google Analytics, etc. Users can also easily generate their sites in other languages to test different markets and validate whether it is working.

Can you share an example of a successful startup that used Mixo to kickstart their business?

We often see two types of businesses get kickstarted on Mixo:

Firstly, we get entrepreneurs testing product ideas. An example of this was Standing Oration (https://www.standingoration.com/) which used Mixo to initially set up a landing page with value prop and registering interest and moved to registering users for the app over time. This is a pretty common example where entrepreneurs can pre-launch an idea, capture demand, and then launch to a list of thousands of interested customers when the MVP or product is ready.

We also have a number of one-man agencies across a number of sectors who have built a web presence quickly off Mixo and then grown their business over 12 months. Viva Marketing (https://www.vivamarketingrva.com) is an example of one that launched with us a year and a half ago and has now steadily grown into a fruitful web marketing company.

What key features of Mixo make it ideal for entrepreneurs with limited technical skills?

First and foremost, Mixo has been built with AI at its core to make it as simple and as quick as possible for entrepreneurs to launch online. In fact, we were one of the first web builders to adopt and build AI into the core engine of the builder.

We use AI to streamline a bunch of the areas which typically slow people down. We focus on continually adding no-code features so users can get things done with limited tech skills and time. Everything from setting up the site to connecting the domain for them, to adding third-party integrations is made easy.

How does Mixo support users in refining their ideas through customer feedback?

Building and growing startups ourselves, we know its pretty common to want to test different concepts and sometimes pivot completely, so we’ve made this core to how we price and setup Mixo. Essentially users can easily change their site, add additional landing pages to test ideas and change the core site concept without much code knowledge. Also, if a user wants to restart, they can simply create another site and swap their paid subscription over to it.

What future updates or innovations are planned to further enhance the platform?

We are constantly playing with AI and trying to unlock something new and valuable. Currently we are working on allowing the AI to build forms into websites with ease. This helps people create a contact form, lead generation form, quiz, survey, etc in seconds. We’re also looking into ways of allowing users to set a digital marketing budget and allow the AI to suggest/execute the spending to help grow online. Watch this space.
