In this interview series, Website Planet is talking to executives from the best digital companies, who share their stories and unique tips to create a successful online business like they did.

A deep dive into their remarkable stories and expertise to learn unheard, practical advice that will immediately help you build and grow your website to success.

Our guest today is Andrew Fiebert, Founder and CEO of Lasso Analytics. Andrew has extensive experience in technology and finance, and before Lasso he co-founded the affiliate site giftlab. In 2020, his affiliate sites reached over 11 million people, but he struggled to manage all of the affiliate links on his sites with existing plugins. This led him and his wife Laura to create Lasso.

Lasso is a suite of tools designed for affiliate marketers and creators to manage, promote and earn more from their affiliate links. Their flagship product is the Lasso WordPress plugin which enables marketers to create attractive product displays that increase clicks and conversions while also helping them to keep their links managed and optimized.

We looked at how Lasso solves the past challenges for affiliate marketers, and how they plan to expand and adapt to the new ones coming (anyone said Google updates?).

What problems are you solving for your customers and audience?

At Lasso, we solve revenue-based problems for affiliate marketers and content creators running WordPress websites. Our ideal customers range from solo entrepreneurs to digital agencies, holding titles like Publisher, Content Manager, Affiliate Marketer, and SEO Specialist.

Their primary goal is to maximize affiliate revenue while minimizing the time spent managing and optimizing affiliate links. However, managing numerous affiliate links manually is time-consuming and error-prone, and creating DIY product displays is inefficient. Not to mention that customers often struggle with tracking link performance, updating outdated links, and ensuring all links are SEO-friendly is a never ending struggle that takes time away from making more content.

Many resort to DIY methods or fragmented tools, which create inefficiencies and limit insights, leading to missed revenue opportunities and wasted time. Lasso addresses these issues with a comprehensive, integrated solution:
  • We centralize affiliate link management
  • Provide customizable display boxes to enhance product visibility
  • Offer detailed analytics for actionable insights
  • Build partnerships with brands to help customers earn more commissions from their Amazon sales.

What sets you apart from the competition?

What sets Lasso apart is our all-in-one solution for affiliate link management, optimization, and tracking tailored for WordPress users. Customers often come to us frustrated by fragmented tools requiring multiple plugins and manual processes. These inefficiencies and errors waste time and resources.

They worry about the learning curve and integration issues. We address these concerns with an intuitive interface, robust support, and detailed documentation for a smooth transition. Our analytics provide clear, actionable insights, demonstrating immediate value, while users also benefit from features like centralized link management and customizable display boxes (no coding required), streamlining their workflow and enhancing content appeal.

As site owners, we pride ourselves on making tools that finally simplify the affiliate marketing process. It’s also why we’re able to offer white-glove support to all customers.

Lasso enables affiliate marketers to focus on creating quality content and growing their audience, confident their links are optimized and performing well.

🚀Using Lasso, customers typically see a 20-30% increase in affiliate revenue within months, thanks to optimized link placements and higher click-through rates. They also save countless hours previously spent on manual link management.

What are your goals for the future, and how do you plan to accomplish them?

Our short-term goals at Lasso focus on adapting to the changing SEO landscape and helping bloggers who have pivoted to social media to engage their audiences. With Google reducing traffic for niche websites and blogs, we aim to provide tools that allow these creators to seamlessly monetize their social media presence and earn higher commission rates from affiliate programs like Amazon.

In the next year, we plan to roll out new features tailored for social media integration, enabling users to track and optimize affiliate links shared across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Long-term, we envision expanding Lasso’s capabilities to support every affiliate platform. We’re looking at incorporating AI-driven insights to further enhance link optimization and performance tracking. Additionally, we plan to introduce advanced customization options for affiliate displays, ensuring they are highly engaging and tailored to different audience segments.

Whatever problems you’re having as an affiliate marketer, and however you promote your affiliate links, Lasso will have a solution for you.

By focusing on these strategic initiatives, we aim to empower bloggers and affiliate marketers to thrive in an evolving digital landscape, providing them with the tools they need to monetize their content effectively and sustainably.

* P.S. Recent expansion will allow us to include tools to help our customers earn 3-5x bonus commissions from Amazon.

What trends are you most excited about?

We’re most excited about how creators are branching out to new traffic sources and content types. Diversification creates new opportunities. Our industry is in a state of flux, which is when people get the most creative.

Specifically to Lasso, we’re working on two new products that help small creators who feel like they’re being pushed out of their own publishing business right now. The affiliate marketing industry is growing, just like it always has been, and AI is making it easier than ever for new marketers to get started which makes it an exciting time for newcomers and seasoned marketers alike.

And what trends are you most worried about?

Google seems to be doing whatever it can to penalize small sites and make it harder to find an audience. That’s why users are moving to social media.

There are more and more medium-sized site owners who’ve decided it’s not worth their time and have left the industry. When that happens, their sites will be acquired by the giants who are dominating the search results. Less search result diversity is worse for users and the industry as a whole.

AI is a double edged sword that nobody actually knows the effects of yet. I’m optimistic that it will be a great tool for online marketers, but it will likely also take a huge portion of organic traffic away from niche sites, and they’ll be forced to adapt and diversify.
