Inside Tebiko: Crafting eCommerce and Web Success Stories

Predrag Vlatkovic Written by:
Founded in 2010, Tebiko has evolved into a dynamic digital agency specializing in eCommerce, web development, SEO, and AI-driven solutions. Website Planet spoke with Founder and CEO Daniel Salazar to learn how his team helps businesses thrive online with tailored strategies and cutting-edge technology.

Can you share a few details about Tebiko as a company and its founding story?

Tebiko is a digital agency that was founded in 2010, but started with a different name. I personally like technology a lot and have some experience with digital marketing and tools from my previous job. So we wanted to help companies thrive with digital solutions. We have offered many services over the years, but our main focus right now is on eCommerce, Web, AI, and SEO.

What is your approach to web design, and what are some key things to consider when designing a website in 2025?

We start by identifying the type of project: typically, it falls into either an eCommerce website or a standard business website. For eCommerce projects, we primarily work with Shopify. For non-commerce websites, we usually work with WordPress, although we also take on select projects using Webflow when it fits the client’s needs.

Once the platform is defined, we dive into understanding the core of the business by focusing on:
  • Business objectives
  • Target audience
  • Conversion goals
  • User journey and key pain points
With this foundation, we prepare and send a project quote and detailed proposal. Once approved, we send a project kickoff form to collect essential information such as:
  • Logo and brand guidelines
  • Contact details
  • Social media links
  • Any other assets relevant to the project
After receiving the required assets, we schedule a kickoff meeting to align expectations, clarify goals, and establish timelines. From there, our process involves:
  • Collecting all assets and content;
  • Setting up the platform and integrations;
  • Designing the website with a focus on performance, usability, and brand alignment.
In summary, we focus on building a strong strategic foundation first, then move into design and development, ensuring every project is tailored, efficient, and aligned with business goals. These are some of the things we always consider for each website:
  • Good web hosting, so the site can have great performance;
  • SEO, working with key information to help you appear digitally on Google and other search engines, including OpenAI;
  • Chat, most of our customers get leads from chat platforms like WhatsApp;
  • Conversions, where and how conversions are going to be tracked;
  • Page speed;
  • Simple but trendy web design;
  • Simplicity.

What makes designing an e-commerce website different from designing any other type of website, and what are the differences depending on the platform the client is using, such as Shopify or WooCommerce?

We love designing and developing eCommerce stores. We think design-wise, eCommerce stores are easier to set up, but require more information to gather like payment gateways, shipping information, policies, product information, categories, or collections, etc. Overall, what we aim for are tangible results for product-based companies, rather than service-based, because they can really see all the money the site has made.

The biggest challenge on each project is understanding the products and how the customer operates. Some products don’t require much information, but sometimes we need to capture specific dynamic information for each product so it can be more easily understood by end users. Sometimes companies that sell the same kind of products have different approaches or complexities, it can be on the payments, shipping, information wanted, etc.

We have worked with both WooCommerce and Shopify, but I would say that 90% of the stores we build or work with are on Shopify. It just works best and enables customers to focus more on selling and operating the business than on performance or servers. We love WordPress, but for eCommerce, Shopify has been a game changer for our customers. In some rare cases, we’ll work with WooCommerce mostly because of some special type of requirements that are not easy or affordable on Shopify.

What can you tell me about your email marketing services?

Email Marketing has been one of our best upsell services, and it has made our customers a ton of money. We like to tell our customers that the pot of gold is in Email Marketing, the best-selling merchants do Email Marketing, and it helps them stay active and relevant with their customers. We have seen some great results from this service. We usually work with Klaviyo or Shopify Email for this. What we usually offer is an Email Marketing setup that includes:
  • Platform configuration
  • Domain configuration
  • Email template
  • Signup form
  • Welcome series
  • Abandoned cart
  • Tutorial, so our customers can be able to send their own campaigns.
But we have also done some special flows, like back in stock, customer win-backs, and others.

What other services and features do you offer?

We also offer SEO, we have seen some great results for our customers, too. Most digital agencies focus on social media, but don’t do SEO, so we wanted to help our customers be there where and when it matters.

We are also now working with Chatbots with AI Agents, which can help with FAQs, get lead information, and schedule meetings. We are just releasing this, but it’s something that seems very promising.

We like to help customers thrive in the digital world, and it’s amazing how all these evolving tools do wonders for businesses. We are glad and proud to be able to contribute to this amazing digital journey.
