How and when was Sekel Tech founded, and with what idea in mind?

The idea came about when I tried searching online for “shoes near me” and realized that the top results were all aggregator platforms. I was specifically looking for Nike shoes, and it struck me that there was a big gap in discovery when it came to finding nearby physical stores. This gap—this disconnect in local search—is what we identified as a key problem to solve back in 2013. Around that time, Google My Business was also emerging, which further highlighted the opportunity to support local businesses. That’s how the company that is now Sekel Tech was born—with a mission to bridge the online-offline discovery gap and help small businesses get found more effectively.

How can you help a brand get discovered in today’s market?

Today, discovery has improved significantly, with Google being the dominant search engine—over 49% of its daily Google searches are related to local businesses. That’s a clear sign of how crucial local visibility is.
