How did MemoMail come about and what pain points are you trying to solve for your clients?
Founding MemoMail was my idea which came to life in 2020. It was founded with the objective of solving problems related to time management and the lack of automation in communication between company and client, becoming a point of reference in communication management. Anyone who works in a web agency knows how time-consuming it is to send communications about deadlines for essential services such as domains, hosting, PEC, plug-in licences, and much more. Every month we sent hundreds of emails, often for low-margin services, consuming valuable time that we could have spent on more strategic projects. In 2020, tired of this manual management, we asked ourselves: “Is it possible that there is no simple, intuitive, and convenient solution to solve this problem?” After much fruitless research, I decided to turn this challenge into an opportunity. Talking with Luca, a friend who is a database expert, we started to outline the idea of MemoMail. At first, it was a project designed for BASE315, but we soon realised that the need to automate memos was common to many other professional categories where communication with the customer is crucial: IT technicians, associations, accountants, schools, workshops, and many others. The initial phase was not easy: the right team was needed. After a few attempts, I involved Bruno Rossi, a system engineer, and Thommy Thomas Brandoli, a programmer with whom I had already collaborated. In addition, my wife Elena Scabini, an expert in web law and project manager at BASE315, brought a fundamental contribution to the project. With the team complete, we set to work and, after about a year, MemoMail was ready for internal use, albeit with some necessary adjustments.What specific features does MemoMail offer?
MemoMail offers a comprehensive set of features designed to simplify and automate deadline management, making the process efficient and stress-free. Key features include:- Senders: you can use the software’s default sender or configure one or more customised senders with your own web domain.
- Recipients: you can add one recipient at a time or import them massively.
It is possible to associate the recipient with one or more lists and assign it one or more shortcodes. - Lists: lists are used to group users so that the message is addressed to the desired users.
- Shortcodes: shortcodes are elements used to customise the message.
- Templates: message templates allow you to save all your recurring messages so that they are ready to send.
- Scheduling: finally, in this section you can schedule the message with the required repetition, importing the desired message and setting the list of users or individual users to whom you want to send the message.
- Sent messages: In this section, you can find all sent messages and download a report in csv format.
- Deleted messages: finally, all deleted messages can be viewed from this section and activated again if necessary.
What is the technology stack behind MemoMail?
The core of our technology stack includes: For data management, we use a relational database based on PostgreSQL, which was chosen for its reliability and scalability. The backend is developed in Java, guaranteeing stability and performance, while the frontend is built in Javascript, offering a dynamic and intuitive user interface. A key element of our platform is the mail delivery engine, which we have built entirely with Rust. This language allows us to achieve efficiency, speed, and security in the message management process. Finally, for the actual sending, we use some dedicated SMTP servers, ensuring fast and reliable email delivery.What pricing plans do you offer and what are the differences between them?
We offer three main tariff plans to meet the needs of different types of users, which can be annual or monthly.- For smaller needs, we have the Silver Plan priced at €12/month with the annual plan or €9/month with the monthly plan. It includes:

What can we expect from MemoMail going forward?
This journey, which started from a personal need, has turned into a mission to help others work more efficiently. Today, MemoMail is a mature tool, born from a small self-funded company and constantly evolving. Our mission is to be able to help companies accelerate through MemoMail globally. We are working on a multi-channel approach so that messages can be sent not only by email but also by message. We are trying to release more streamlined documentation to integrate our engine on other management systems so that they can send their communications via MemoMail. And working on integrating the service on some CMSs via plug-ins.
