How and when was Brickspace Lab founded and what inspired you to found it?
I’ve been freelancing as a web developer and designer for many years before starting Brickspace Lab. Starting a company happened naturally. As my freelancing progressed it grew into something bigger. That’s how Brickspace Lab started.What goes into designing a Shopify theme and what are some key things to keep in mind and focus on during the process?
So much goes into designing and building a Shopify theme. Frustration, patience, sweat, tears, and a lot of hard work. From a more technical POV building a theme involves a lot. We start with research so we understand merchants and their customers. We jump into Figma and play around with hundreds of designs. Then we pull it all together into code. That sounds easy when I say it – but it’s months of work and lots of extensive testing.Apart from the visual aspect of the themes, what other features and services do you offer to your clients?
We sell premium Shopify themes that don’t just look great but come packed with features. Right now we have three themes published in the Shopify theme store (Paper, Space, and Keystone). Some of my favourite features would be bundles, sibling products, cart upsells, cart editing, and background videos.How does Brickspace Lab differentiate itself from other Shopify theme developers?
I’m not sure. We have no initiatives to focus on being different. Our only focus is building great Shopify themes and I’m sure there are other people doing the same.What does the future hold for Brickspace Lab? Are there any upcoming projects or features we could be looking forward to?
