Hostinger vs. InfinityFree- Which One Is Actually Better 2024

Call me cynical but I always find it difficult to trust something that’s labeled as “free”. If you’re looking for free hosting, chances are you’ll end up finding InfinityFree. Hostinger’s starting shared plan can be called “almost free” though it’s not free in the true sense. If you’re already thinking of how similar Hostinger and InfinityFree are, stop right there because they aren’t. I tested both these hosting providers on key aspects like features, pricing, performance, etc. to find which one is a better web host. I found Hostinger to be The One, thanks to its better overall performance in all the tested categories.

Click here to see Hostinger’s best deals1 or read on to find out for yourself how it beats its rival in this Hostinger vs. InfinityFree contest.

1. Plans and Pricing

Free isn’t always the best and InfinityFree proves it

With Hostinger, you’ll get shared hosting, WordPress hosting, email hosting, cloud hosting, and VPS. Apart from free web hosting with cPanel, InfinityFree also offers two paid “premium” hosting plans through iFastNet.

InfinityFree’s free plan is, well, free (no hidden costs are there). Cost-wise, this is somewhat comparable to Hostinger’s starting shared hosting plan that’s available for almost free provided you sign up for 48 months. If not, the monthly price would be almost 10 times the cheapest price for the starting plan. However, when you consider the value for money, InfinityFree is no match for Hostinger’s plans.

Hostinger wins by offering better value for money.

2. Features

Better and advanced features of Hostinger that work vs. InfinityFree’s tall promises that fall flat

With Hostinger’s shared plans, you’ll get CloudLinux OS that’s designed to improve server stability and data security. If you love freebies, you’ll have them too – from SSL certificate and domain (free with annual billing/above of 2 higher plans) to 1-click auto-installer and website builder (free for 1 month). Additional features on offer include hPanel (custom-made), PHP v5.2-7.4 support, daily/weekly backups, LSCache plugins, and Cloudflare CDN (paid/free).

Though InfinityFree mentions “unlimited” resource allocations, you’ll find it difficult to use them in reality as several limits are put on server resources. It’s not mentioned what OS is on offer. You’ll get PHP support (v5.4, 5.5, 5.6, and 7.3) while the freebies on offer include subdomain names, SSL on your own domains, Softaculous to install 400+ applications, 400 MySQL databases, and DNS service. However, not getting domain registration services or email is disappointing.

Using this table below, you can do a quick comparison of both these providers.

Hostinger InfinityFree
Hosting Types Shared hosting, WordPress hosting, email hosting, VPS, and cloud hosting Shared hosting (free/premium plans through iFastNet)
Free Domain ✓ (except starting plan) ×
Free SSL Certificate ✓(with your own domains)
Disk Space 30GB SSD-300GB SSD Unlimited
Bandwidth 100GB-unlimited Unlimited
Automatic Backups Daily/Weekly (plan-dependent) ×
Control Panel hPanel cPanel
Email accounts 1-unlimited NA
Free CDN ✓(with the business plan) ×
Free Site Migration ×
Money-Back Guarantee 30 days 7-day (for iFastNet’s premium plans)
InfinityFree’s “free” and unlimited resources are far behind Hostinger’s value-added features.

3. Performance

Rocking performance from Hostinger that InfinityFree can’t even come close to

With Hostinger, you can host almost anything – from a simple hobby site to company websites to online stores and much more. It also uses several powerful features like SSDs, LSCache plugins, Cloudflare CDN, etc. But with limited server power, InfinityFree can, at best, host a text hobby website. Even if you want to host a simple website with a handful of images, you’ll soon get the “server limit reached” message. This would make the entire process of your website creation futile.

Hostinger has a 99.9% uptime guarantee SLA (backed by a credit of 5% of your monthly fee). When put to test, Hostinger’s performance was rock-solid with exceptional website loading speeds and uptime. You can take a look at our expert Hostinger review for the details.
InfinityFree offers a 99.9% uptime (which isn’t guaranteed though). But its performance wasn’t up to the mark when I tested it. Check our detailed InfinityFree review to know what went wrong.

4. Security

It’s serious business at Hostinger but not so much at InfinityFree

Be it basic security measures like automatic backups and SSL certificates or advanced features like LVE containers, anti-DDoS protection, HTTP/2, Imunify360 or Bitninja (WAF), real-time server monitoring, etc., all these and more are on offer at Hostinger. Thus, your websites or online stores hosted with Hostinger are secure.

But the same can’t be said about InfinityFree. This provider puts your website security at risk by simply offering free SSL for the domains that you bring. So, should you be afraid? Yes, very much, I would say!

If you don’t want to gamble with your website’s security, Hostinger is a much better choice.

5. Support

Hostinger’s quick and competent support defeats InfinityFree’s extremely limited support

For logged-in users, Hostinger offers 24/7 ticket and live chat support. There’s 24/7 email support too (through a general inquiry form). If you like getting preferential treatment and don’t mind paying for it, Hostinger’s Priority Support could be just what you need. I engaged with Hostinger’s live chat on multiple occasions, and each time, the support team provided me with prompt and accurate responses. Individuals who enjoy self-help resources can access a thorough knowledgebase, a blog, and numerous tutorials.

InfinityFree offers support only through its knowledgebase and a forum. Non-availability of one-on-one support is a big problem and disappointment for sure.

Getting support when it matters is important. With Hostinger, you won’t feel abandoned at any point.

Hostinger Appeals to Both Beginners and Experienced Webmasters

If you are a beginner trying to get started with hosting, Hostinger will offer a lot of support, hand-holding, and beginner-friendly features. If you’re a seasoned pro, you’ll be in good company with Hostinger, thanks to its advanced features that you can play around with to improve your website’s performance. In every category that I tested it for, Hostinger raced miles ahead of InfinityFree. So, I would recommend Hostinger with confidence. As it features amongst the top web hosting services, you’ll do well to choose it.
