Evercast is a HD live streaming and video conferencing platform that enables professional creative teams to collaborate remotely in real time. This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Alex Cyrell, the CEO and Co-founder of Evercast who kindly agreed to share some important information about the company.
Please describe the story behind the Evercast: What sparked the idea, and how has it evolved so far?
My co-founders and I originally developed Evercast in 2015 as a more efficient video conferencing platform. As creatives ourselves, however, we quickly realized that with the right features and technology, the platform could be valuable for creative collaboration. We then adapted the product for use in film & television production.
In 2017, veteran film editor Roger Barton, ACE, was introduced to Evercast. With provisional approval from the film studio, Roger used Evercast to edit “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” from home. The experience was profound for Roger, who had felt burdened by the constant travel and commuting required by his career and the toll it had taken on his family. Roger was instrumental in introducing Evercast to Hollywood and obtaining security approval from all the major studios. By the end of the year, he joined Brad Thomas and me as a co-founder of the company.
In 2020, Evercast’s user base grew exponentially as thousands of creative professionals sought to finish projects remotely in the midst of the pandemic. We’re proud that our product enabled people to continue working during such a challenging time — and today, tens of thousands of creatives continue to use Evercast to collaborate on projects for TV, film, video games, commercials, music, and more.

Our clients have long had the challenge of maintaining a work-life balance, as their jobs often require long commutes and extensive travel. Evercast enables them to work with their teams from anywhere, just as if they were in the same room. It maximizes flexibility, productivity, and efficiency for creatives and stakeholders alike.
How do you envision the future of your industry?
We believe the future of creative work will continue as a hybrid model, meaning people will have the ability to choose whether they work remotely or in-person. We have proven over the course of the pandemic that projects can be made remotely with more efficiency and cost-savings, while simultaneously enabling creatives to have a better work-life balance.
