This week,
Website Planet‘s Marko Velimirovic had the opportunity to speak with Mersad Husic, Co-Founder CalCon Mobile. We spoke about the company’s beginnings, its mission, and what problems it solves for its customers.
Please present CalCon to our audience.
CalCon Mobile is a company based in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland. What started as a small startup company that creates mobile apps quickly turned into a global contender with massive ambitions. Our first projects were apps in the tools/utility category, such as converters and calculators. This eventually led us on to this path of creating the world’s largest calculator database.
Some things have changed, but our initial goal remains the same:
create the best possible calculators for everyone to use.
Please describe the story behind the company: What sparked the idea, and how has it evolved so far?
In CalCon, we aim to create the world’s largest database of free calculators. We have calculators in many categories, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics, statistics, everyday life calculators, and so many more.
Instead of wasting your time looking for formulas and using a regular calculator, you can use our services to calculate anything you need easily. For example, let’s say you’re cooking. The recipe you are following uses
grams as a measurement, but you use
cups. Instead of guessing or trying to convert yourself, you can use our calculator and easily find the needed result.
What services do you offer?
We already have a website and mobile applications for Android and IOS.
Website ->
https://calconcalculator.com/
AppStore -> https://apps.apple.com/us/app/calcon-calculator/id1582182462
Google Play -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.calcon.calconcalculator
Users can find hundreds of different calculators on our web or mobile applications.
We have a
no-coding platform in the application where users can create a calculator and share it with the community.
An important service is that users can request a calculator, and we will make it.
What is the mission of CalCon?
Calculate and convert everything!
We have hundreds of different calculators and converters, and we’re making more every day. Our vision is to solve every calculation and conversion problem in the world.
Who are your typical customers, and what do you think is the main challenge that your product solves for them?
Our customers are people who do daily calculations from various areas of since or jobs. There are students, workers, scientists, and many others.
Which trends and technologies do you find to be particularly intriguing these days?
I already have four years of Android native experience three years ago, so I started working in Flutter. From that point, I can only speak positively about it.
I never stumbled upon a problem that is based on Flutter not supporting something. If you find anything that you would like to have the native code for, you can write it, but in reality, chances are that the community already have it. And that is the beauty of Flutter, ever-expanding and -improving community code. On top of that, everything is open-source, which means that if a package doesn’t get maintained by its author, someone else will continue maintaining it.
